Well hello there.

My name is Jonatan, and I'm a spin artist from Belgium. I hope you find the same joy as I do in both the paintings and the process of seeing them come to life.

 

Spin art is a technique where a canvass is fixed to a spinner. After pouring paint on this medium and performing specific actions, the canvass is spun, thus creating centrifugal magic.

 

This creates an astonishing pattern of colors, only partly in control by the creator. When the canvass starts spinning, an element of surprise is introduced, adding a new parameter which you can't fully control.

 

Looking for the unexpected, generates a feeling of acceptance. Accepting there are things in life we can't control, and thus should not worry about.

 

The technique itself holds this important stoic concept we ought not to forget: worry not about things you can't control, and even try to embrace them. They hold magic. The process is the message.
